After four years of intensive work, newsroom training, and community‑centered reporting, 2Puntos is proud to announce that VozColectiva is beginning a six‑month transition toward full independence under its new name: VozColectiva Comunitaria.

The idea for this transition emerged from a training the team completed with Documented, which emphasized the importance of building long‑term capacity within communities. After years of working together, 2Puntos and the newsroom agree that the next step is to ensure that leadership, skills, and decision‑making power are rooted directly in the community itself.
Since 2020, the newsroom has focused on educating the Latino community—particularly undocumented Latina women—on domestic violence prevention. Throughout this period, 2Puntos provided training in journalism, technology, and newsroom operations, helping the team build the skills needed to produce high‑quality, culturally relevant content.
During these four years, the newsroom earned two awards recognizing its commitment to community storytelling. In collaboration with 2Puntos, the team also produced a series of poster‑style newspapers that combined community insights with organizational expertise to help families navigate the education system.
Additionally, the team conducted two surveys on domestic violence within Philadelphia’s Latino community. The results of the most recent survey are attached to this release.
As VozColectiva Comunitaria moves toward independence, 2Puntos will continue supporting the team throughout a structured six‑month transition process, ensuring stability, continuity, and a strong foundation for their next chapter.
