“Where There’s Life, There’s Hope”: Philadelphians Rally for Colombia Earthquake Recovery | EXPLAINED

Dozens gathered at Philadelphia’s City Hall Wednesday for a vigil honoring the victims of Colombia’s devastating earthquake.

Organized by @phillyaccioncolombia, the vigil marked the beginning of an ongoing effort by Philadelphia’s Colombian community to support rescue, relief and rebuilding in the weeks ahead.

A donation drive is planned for this Saturday & Sunday (Aug. 15-16), 5 a.m.–3 p.m. at Amigo’s Colombian Bakery (6216 Bustleton Ave), with needs including non-perishable food, baby/hygiene supplies, first aid materials, and packing supplies. Volunteers are also needed to help sort and pack donations.
